ŠKRATELJ HOMESTEAD – Museum of Slovenian Film Actors
In the centre of Divača stands the Škratelj Homestead, which dates back to 17th century and is considered to be the oldest preserved Karst homestead. This remarkable vernacular-architecture monument used to be an inn with lodgings and spacious outbuildings, and a popular stop for cart-horse drivers back in the day. The house features some typical elements of Karst architecture, which are intertwined with the renovated adjacent barn and pigsty. The building has been declared an ethnological monument and has been protected as such. The architects who renovated the building, Matjaž Bolčina, Ernest Milčinovič and Teja Savelli, received the 2011 Plečnik Award, awarded for the greatest design and architecture achievements in Slovenia.
